How to quit smoking - Some Useful Tips
65Stop Smoking
Everyone who is smoking or has smoked ciggarettes can vouch for the fact that it isn't easy to quit. Most, if not all, smokers have tried to quit more than once. There are many methods and aids to help smokers quit smoking but if the mind isn't ready to quit, it won't let you.
There are so many factors that add up to fight against you when you are trying to quit smoking. If you are living in a stressful situation or have a lot of stress at work, it is virtually impossible to quit without having a breakdown sooner or later. Depression is another reasons people depend on nicotine. sometimes it is hard for a person to cope with life in general and they resort to smoking to help them get through the day.
Nicotine is a drug as we all know and it is addictive. It has been stated that it only takes about two weeks to become addicted to cigarettes. It has also been stated that the tobacco companies add more nicotine to their products in order to keep people addicted to them.
It took me three weeks in the hospital to quit smoking. I did not have access to cigarettes so I decided then and there when I made it home, I was not going to smoke any more. When I got home, I threw out the cigarettes I had, did a thorough house cleaning and cleaned all of the gook off of my walls, cabinets, everything. It was nasty. Everything was covered with yellow smoke from my cigarettes. It took a good cleaning to get rid of the smell of the cigarettes.
It is very hard to quit and I can't say that I have wanted a cigarette a time or two in the past 8 years or so since I quit but I know what it did to my health and I know I will never touch one again.
There are patches, gum, pills, hypnotisism, and more help to stop smoking. Most of the aids do not work and many people have spent a lot of money just trying to quit because they needed some kind of help. Smoking messes with the mind and it takes a lot of will power to fight the habit. One very good thing to help you is to find a hobby you like and go for it. Keeping the hands busy sure helps. Sitting at the computer doesn't work. I wasted many cigarettes just because I would light them up, lay them in the ashtray and continue my work on the computer. The cigarette would just sit there and burn away. I often wonder how much money I wasted that way. But I needed that smell of smoke.
You have to get up and do something. I think that is partly why I took up gardening again. I have done some gardening all of my life but I have now expanded and I propagate trees/shrubs/ and sell on Ebay and BluJay. I also sell at flea markets and here at home. I love growing things and I have learned a lot more than just the basic planting seeds and pulling weeds. Mike McGroarty has an awesome website that teaches you how to plant, when to plant, and so much more. I thank God for giving me another chance at life. I am so grateful that he has given me the knowledge and energy to keep going in life.
So pick yourself up and take on a hobby that you have always wanted to do or think of something you would like to do and get out there and do it, just leave the cigarettes behind. Do something that requires the use of both hands so you can't be tempted to put a cigarette in one of them.

This should help give a few of those wannabees a helping hand to stop that horrible habbit. My husband was a bad smoker. And overnight he just said that is it. And he never smoked again. He is very strong willed and will not let anything beat him. And thats what u need to be successful.
