How do you compete with other more experienced writers when you're just starting out?
51There is no Competition
Writing is an art, just like painting, and there is room for everyone who has the ability to put their thoughts into words so others can understand it. There is a vast world of different subjects and everyone knows about something or has had experience with some event that would be interesting to write about.
Just the past couple of years had brought on a large demand for writers on the internet and many writers are coming out of the woodwork to show people what they have or can do. Article writing, poems, novels, short stories, etc., has become a big business and also a profitable one in some cases. It is not hard to write articles. The hard part is to find the places where you can market your work and make a descent wage for it. Many buyers do not want to pay much for your work. Sometimes we have to start out with these offers and as we gain experience we can get better offers.
Even those without much experience are joining the multitudes and making money. Sometimes it isn't much but it gives you a good feeling to know someone else likes your writing. Listen to other writers when they give you advice because you can learn a lot from someone else's mistakes. Good Luck to you. Forget the competing, find your niche and go for it!
