Guess Who Came For a Sunday Visit???
55Fine Day In the Country!
Country Living At It's best!
Not long ago on a sunny Sunday morning the neighbors dogs started barking up a storm. This kept up for a while so I decided to go to the door and take a look outside to see if I could tell what they were barking at.
To my surprise, there was a mare and it's colt standing in my yard. They were beautiful and so gentle, even the colt. I called my son and told him to look out his door. He lived just across the driveway from me. He thought it was awesome and we both walked out and they let us walk right up to them and pet them. The mare was not the least bit shy nor upset when we petted her baby.
The mare and her colt stayed around our place all day and nibbled on the grass and drank out of a tub of water I had sitting out by a tree to water my flowers and young trees with. Since we had no one's phone number and had no idea who the horses belonged to, we just let them graze.
In the afternoon after they got their belly's full, they wondered up among the trees and rested in the shade. I couldn't resist the Kodak moment so I took my camera and went out and walked right up to them and took some pictures of them. It was like they were posing for me.
In the evening around 4:00 a young man and his girlfriend came up the driveway on a four wheeler and the man got off and told us the horses belonged to his dad and someone had left the gate open. He then took them away. I really enjoyed the horses and wouldn't have cared if they stayed as long as they wanted to. I know I couldn't keep them but I sure would have liked to.

Very precious story. I enjoyed the pictures. Is that a tiny little dog at the horses feet in pictures 8 and 9? The horses are obviously used to being around dogs and visa versa. I also noticed that the date is 9/11. It's a very pleasant thing to see on a day that is not remembered so fondly in the hearts of americans. Be Blessed!
